About Bay Animal Hospital
At Bay Animal Hospital, we believe veterinary care is about more than just medicine — it’s about building lasting relationships with pets and the people who love them. Located in the heart of Essexville, MI, we’ve proudly served generations of families throughout the Great Lakes Bay Region with trusted, heartfelt veterinary care for over six decades.
A Legacy of Loyalty and Excellence
Established in 1956 as a one-doctor mixed animal practice, Bay Animal Hospital began with a simple mission: to provide reliable, compassionate care for every animal that came through our doors. Over the years, our practice has grown in both size and scope, but our values have never changed.
Today, we are a five-doctor practice supported by an experienced and dedicated support team. We offer full-service care for dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, and other small companion animals. From routine wellness visits to advanced diagnostics, we tailor each visit to meet your pet’s needs while offering honest guidance, clinical excellence, and genuine compassion.
What Drives Us
Our mission is to provide pets with the highest quality care that modern veterinary medicine can offer — delivered with patience, integrity, and love. We are committed to:
Treating every pet as if they were our own
Taking the time to educate pet owners with transparency and respect
Fostering a low-stress, comfortable environment
Investing in ongoing education and the latest advancements in veterinary medicine
We know that when you trust us with your pet’s health, you’re placing your faith in our hands — and we take that responsibility to heart.
Trusted by the Community for Over 60 Years
Bay Animal Hospital has become a cornerstone of the Essexville veterinary community, serving clients across Bay City, Saginaw, Midland, Unionville, Caseville, and beyond. Many of our clients have been with us for generations, and we’re proud to continue earning their trust through honest communication, consistent care, and a welcoming, family-focused approach.
Though we do not offer grooming, boarding, or emergency services for non-clients, we focus all our energy on delivering the best preventive, diagnostic, and surgical care to pets who rely on us for their lifelong well-being.
Modern Medicine, Personal Touch
We’re equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools — including in-house laboratory testing, digital radiography, and ultrasound technology — to provide timely answers and comprehensive treatment plans. Yet, what our clients appreciate most is the care behind the treatment.
At Bay Animal Hospital, your pet’s comfort always comes first. From thoughtful handling techniques to extended time during appointments, we do everything we can to reduce stress and build trust, because a calm pet is a healthier pet.
